- Policy/procedures for public radio
- History & Knowledge of Public Radio Broadcasting: National and KDNA
- The role of public radio in the community
- Required Skills/Tasks
- Research topics relevant to low-income, agricultural workers and their families that are limited-English proficient (such as health, education, basic needs), as well as the interests of Hispanic youth with the same background as their parents/guardians.
- Speak English/Spanish proficiently.
- Develop radio scripts based on the research identified above in item a.
- Learn how to produce radio programs from the research collected and the scripts developed
- Assist in all aspects of radio station operations
- Execute sponsored advertisements
- Ensure radio programming is executed at the direction of the Radio Lead
Specialized knowledge: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Internship Days/Hours:
Preferred: Wednesdays and Fridays/4-6 hours per day (days may change due to holidays)
Paid Internship:
A paid internship at $600 per month, paid twice per month at $300.00, for up to 8-12 hours per week.
Must have reliable transportation.
