Description: An Internship in community development involves working with nonprofit organizations to address social justice issues, poverty, homelessness, and other community challenges.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Able to speak English/Spanish proficiently
- Meet and greet customers and assist them with basic needs information or resource contact information
- Research and refer clients to community resources
- Work with individuals, families, or groups as needed to apply for services and attain appointments as required/appropriate
- Become knowledgeable about programs and services for basic needs or other related needs.
- Participate in events and activities to share services offered at NCEC/KDNA
Specialized Knowledge:
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Internship days/hours:
Preferred: Wednesdays and Fridays/6-8 hours a day (May change due to holidays)
Paid Internship:
A paid internship at $600 per month, paid twice per month at $300.00, for up to 8-12 hours per week.
Must have reliable transportation.
