Value of Internships – In students own words

When asked how internships, project-based courses, simulations, and other work-based learning experiences benefited them, students shared that they helped them (in their words):

o   Investigate things beyond the curriculum

o   See the practicality of the degree

o   Validate my academic experience – more than just the degree

o   Recognize what’s relevant when I go into the workforce

o   Expand my horizons by talking to other students doing internships

o   Figure out what I didn’t want to do

o   Grow personally as well as professionally

o   Increase my skills

o   Increase my confidence to be a functioning adult and contribute to society
